Antoine Semenyo has been a superlative performer for Bournemouth this season and his impressive skillset is sure to strengthen Manchester City.
The 26-year-old tops various metrics for the Cherries and is sure to be a huge miss for them for the rest of this campaign, leading the way in terms of goals and ball-carrying threat in the final third.
City boss Pep Guardiola may well have been attracted to Semenyo's capacity to press effectively out of possession, winning the ball back in the final third more often than any other Premier League player since the start of last season (51).
The Ghana international has scored 21 goals and assisted eight since the beginning of 2024-25 but it is his ability with the ball at his feet, both in terms of providing a goal threat and creating opportunities for others, that is a real point of difference in comparison to most top-flight forwards.
He ranks in the top three in the Premier League for shots (56) and chances created (37) directly following a carry.
Only two players have completed more dribbles over the past season and a half than Semenyo and one of those is new team-mate Jeremy Doku, presenting the tantalising prospect of the two evasive wingers operating on opposite flanks for City during the remainder of this campaign.
Guardiola may also have been drawn to Semenyo's impressive fitness record – he has missed just two Premier League matches since April 2024.
And Semenyo bowed out at Bournemouth in sparkling form.
A wonderful effort in the 4-4 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 15 December sparked a run of four goals in six games, the most recent of which was a dramatic added-time winner in what proved to be his last game for Bournemouth as they beat Spurs 3-2 on Wednesday.
