Arbeloa, who played for Liverpool from 2007 to 2009, has replaced Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid's first-team coach.

Carragher: "Arbeloa was attacking too much and I just wanted him to defend. That was his job"
The former England international said that "Arbeloa was not a great player, but he was a good player… And he started to think he was a great player".
"So I needed him to get his feet back on the ground. He was attacking too much and I just wanted him to defend. That was his job. Our aim was to keep a clean sheet," he explained.
Carragher highlighted that "I think we beat West Bromwich 2-0 and got the Golden Glove for Pepe Reina."
Pepe Reina won the Premier League Golden Glove with Liverpool in three consecutive seasons: 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08.
