Kerry sides took the honours at Croke Park on Sunday as An Ghealtacht overcame Glenullin 0-12 to 0-6 in the All-Ireland Club Intermediate Football final, while Ballymacelligott were 1-16 to 0-13 winners over Clogher in the Junior final.
Derry club Glenullin came into their final with high hopes, but were unable to get started against an An Ghealtacht side who produced a composed display to go some way to make up for the club's 2004 senior final loss to Caltra.
Six points from Ruaidhri O Beaglaoich proved the difference as Kerry football celebrated another triumph at Croke Park.
Clogher led by two in at half-time in the Junior final against Ballymacelligott, but the Kingdom club got on top in the second period before the Tyrone men lost their way in attack as a late goal from Donal Daly ended the argument.
First half paves the way for An Ghealtacht against Glenullin
A dominant first half display from An Ghealtacht laid the foundations as they managed out the second period to defeat Glenullin by six in the Intermediate final.
The Kerry side opened an eight-point lead at the turnaround as they dominated the ball and although they didn't kick on in the second half, they were able to keep the Derry side at arm's length to complete a fine day for Kerry club football.
Ruaidhri O Beaglaoich kicked An Ghealtacht into a second-minute lead with their first of his six first-half points, while Sean O Cuinn added another after an elongated period of possession.
Glenullin were off the mark through Chrissy Dempsey in the eighth minute, but it proved to be the Ulster champions' only score of the second period as Eoin Bradley was snuffed out by goalkeeper Sean O Luing from yards out soon after.
An Ghealtacht were happy to retain possession and apply a patient approach to find gaps. Their tactic worked perfectly in the second quarter as they rattled off a further seven points with O Beaglaoich grabbing five which included a two-point free ,while Conor O Corduibh and semi-final hero Eanna O Conchuir also landed to help the Kerry men into a 0-9 to 0-1 lead at the break.
Glenullin improved after the break, but early chances came and went as they failed to make a dent in the gap.
An Ghealtacht weren't faring much better and 19 minutes elapsed before the first score of the second period as Sean O Gairbhi extended the Munster side's lead.
The Derry side finally added to their tally in the 50th minute as substitute Fearghal Close's shot dropped over and Neil McNicholl added another from a free shortly after to reduce the gap to seven.
Any notions of a stirring late fightback were extinguished as Cathal O Beaglaoich kicked a superb two-pointer with five minutes to play.
Conor Rafferty hit a pair of late scores for Glenullin, but they needed much more and a late McNicholl free was mere consolation as An Ghealtacht took the title.
Ballymacelligott deny Clogher in Junior final
Clogher's bid to land the Junior title fell short as Kerry's Ballymacelligott took a six-point win in the opening game.
The Tyrone side led by two at the break, having enjoyed wind advantage, but lost their way in attack in the second period despite having a number of chances.
Ballymacelligott made the most of their moments to open a gap and despite being let off the hook at times, found the game-breaker late on through Donal Daly's goal.
Darragh Broderick gave the Munster champions a good star with a two-point free and when they first score of the game arrived through Donal Daly in the 13th minute, they led by four.
This sparked Clogher to life with Ciaran Bogue and Conor Shields hitting back-to-back two-pointers to level and they pushed on to lead by two.
Bogue could have put further daylight between the teams when through in the 24th minute, but blazed wide, yet they held a 0-10 to 0-8 advantage gong into the second half.
Ballymacelligott were quicker out of the traps with Daire Keane pointing within seconds and an Aidan Breen free drew them level.
Wind assisted, the Kerry men had momentum with Joy and Keane adding further points and although Marc McConnell momentarily halted their flow with a score, Clogher had to wait 20 minutes to add to the tally.
Ballymacelligott pushed the gap out to four as the wides began to mount for Clogher, with Ruairi McCaugey and Bogue spuring goal chances.
After Keane missed a goal chance at the other end, Daly needed no second invite with five to play when finishing low to the net.
After McCaughey ended Clogher's barren spell, they were almost hit for a second goal when Niall Collins hit the crossbar, but the corner forward did land a point moments later.
That was as good as that with Clogher's day summed up when substitute Fionbarr McCaughey clipped the outside of the post and Michchael McCaughey blazed over deep in added time, but it wasn't to be as Ballymacelligott claimed the title.
