Promotion-chasing Ipswich Town have signed winger Anis Mehmeti from Championship rivals Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The London-born Albania international has scored nine goals in 31 appearances for the Robins this season.

He played in both their 1-1 draw with Ipswich at Ashton Gate in September and the Tractor Boys' 2-0 win in the reverse fixture earlier this week.

Mehmeti was City's top scorer last season with 12 goals and was offered a new contract in October with his existing one due to expire this summer.

"Everyone knows the ambition is to get promoted back to the Premier League and I am here to help us achieve that," Mehmeti told the Ipswich website after signing a deal to the summer of 2029.

He is the first signing of the current transfer window by Ipswich, who are third in the Championship, having won their past four league games under Kieran McKenna.
