Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Thomas Frank as head coach, according to The Athletic.
Spurs are now working on a replacement for the Dane as they seek to salvage their season.
Frank was appointed last summer as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou, who guided the club to a 17th-place finish last season, but won the UEFA Europa League.
He was unable to turn things around domestically, with Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United leaving them just five points adrift of the relegation zone.
Spurs are now winless in their last eight league games — their longest winless streak in the top-flight for over 17 years.
The North London side’s performances have been unconvincing, particularly at home, where they have collected just 10 points, the second fewest in the division.
Frank won seven of his 26 league matches, giving him a 26.9 per cent winning ratio — the lowest of any Spurs manager to have been in charge for more than 10 matches in the competition.
Tottenham were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the fourth round, losing 2-0 to Newcastle, and lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round.
However, Frank guided Spurs to fourth place in the UEFA Champions League league-phase standings, finishing ahead of London rivals Chelsea.
Roberto de Zerbi, Enzo Maresca, and Xabi Alonso, all of whom were sacked at their previous clubs this term, are potential candidates to replace Frank.
